ECRS announces a convergent store automation solution specifically developed for independent grocers. The all-in-one solution will be marketed under the OpenPOS™ brand name. The OpenPOS Grocery system uses proven, open, and leading technology to provide a comprehensive and cost effective solution for independent grocers.
OpenPOS for Grocery provides independent grocers with a completely integrated software/hardware solution that includes features such as POS, Self-Checkout, DSD (Direct Store Delivery), Customer Loyalty, Internet-Based Credit/Debit Authorization, Credit Signature Capture, House Charge Tracking, Store/Back-Room Management, Head Office Price Book, Head Office Reporting, Business Intelligence Dashboard, and In-Store Data Server. The plug-and-play solution utilizes Epson’s IM-800 POS Terminals and TM-H6000II printers, PSC Inc’s Magellan® High Performance Scanner/Scales, and ECRS' CATAPULT Store Automation Software.
According to ECRS President, Pete Catoe, “OpenPOS for Grocery is a modern solution with compelling features and functionality, all available at an affordable price. ECRS is committed to the independent grocer, and I believe that OpenPOS satisfies a long-existing demand for a sensible, alternative solution that meets the specialized needs of this important but overlooked market.”
Seamless Integration: CATAPULT touch screen POS software is tightly integrated with the Epson and PSC Inc hardware components via OPOS, providing seamless cashier and customer interaction.
Optional Features: Optional add-on features, such as ECRS' QUICKcheck, allow OpenPOS users to implement affordable self-checkout stations, providing for the first time a powerful upgrade path to self-checkout for independent grocers.
The OpenPOS Grocery solution is now available throughout North America via ECRS' U.S. and Canadian dealer network, as well as through ECRS' nationwide direct sales force.
